Motorland Aragon - Alcaniz
In Alcaniz, a small town with 20.000 inhabitants, on an altitude of 343 meters and easily accessible, close to Tortosa (61 Km) between Zaragoza (102 Km), Reus (109 Km) and Barcelona (250 Km), lays a new track which is part of a technology park designed for motor sports. On top of a kart and off-road track, there is also a 5.345 meter long road track. It was designed by the German architect Hermann Tilke, in collaboration with F1 rider Pedro de la Rosa (cousin of Dany Pedrosa), and offers - thanks to the different junctions - numerous possibilities for different tracks. The straight line which normally is 968 meters long, can take up to 1.726 meters if required! In the usual configuration, the track runs counter-clockwise and has a width of 12 to 15 meters, with ten left and seven right turns and a slight level difference of 52 meters only. The infrastructure is impeccable and the boxes remind of the F1 boxes in Francorchamps. The track, visited by MotoGP and Superbike and dreaming of F1, has been elected as the best MotoGP track of the 2010 season.
